Zhongshan Hostel - Fenchihu

My partner and I stayed at Zhongshan for 4 nights as we couldn't find accommodation in Alishan park. The owner was extremely helpful, arranging transportation for us to see the sunrise in Alishan and even buying our train tickets. The room was simple but clean, with a hot shower. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, driving us to catch the bus to Alishan and even picking us up when we got lost. The facilities were comfortable with good wifi, and breakfast had a variety of options.

We had a very pleasant stay in Fenqihu not far from the bus stop, the tea plantation hiking trails and all stores. Magnificent setting in Alishan park.

We had a wonderful experience at this hostel in Fenchihu. The owner, who we'll call Zhongshan, was incredibly friendly and helpful. Despite the language barrier, she used Google Translate to communicate with us and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and plenty of amenities. The location was perfect, just a short walk to restaurants and local trailheads, and right across from a bus stop. We also enjoyed a delicious European breakfast each morning.

Best value for money, friendly owner, clean rooms, tasty Chinese breakfast, excellent surroundings, attractive local foods nearby. Great location in Fenqihu, super clean hostel, lovely hostess who can use Google translate, special breakfast, wonderful care. Quiet hotel, kind couple, beautiful walks in nearby forest, helpful auntie, drove to bus station, explained local life. Exceptional owner, ensures wonderful experience, offers to drive to neighboring village, buys coffee and bread rolls, clean and comfortable facilities, decent wifi.

Nothing that I didn't like.

If you're looking for a convenient location between the city center and forest trails, Zhongshan is the perfect hostel for you. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and even charged me a reduced rate because breakfast wasn't available. They even went above and beyond by offering me a breadroll and a dessert. The room was clean and simple, with a hot shower, and the host helped me arrange transportation to see the sunrise in Alishan.
